This Monday was the beggining of a new thematic week. Organized by the staff of the Academy, this week will be punctuated by meetings and visits for the student clubs, meetings with professionals and many other activities.

The first day was punctuated by meetings within each student clubs, and then the intervention of the Talentéo group for an afternoon of disability awareness.

This morning, the Academicians met by club in order to prepare the visits and meetings scheduled during the week. They had time to discuss upcoming activities, to exchange about their ideas and to prepare to welcome people they will meet on Wednesday.

During the afternoon, the T by Talenteo agency, a digital and event agency focuses on disability and employment themes, accompanied by the teams Rebird and Lyon Basket Fauteuil, had prepared an adapted program to the profiles of our Academicians. These interventions aimed to raise awareness and introduce young people to equality and inclusion in basketball and esport.

Three sessions were organized for our young students: a course in blindness, an introduction to wheelchair basketball, and the discovery of disabled esport.

On the wheelchair basketball program they had: understanding the wheelchair, pass exercises, shoots, and games to discover the discipline alongside Ludovic and Jean-Louis JOUVENCEAU and Khaled AÏT OUFEROUKH, members of the Lyon Basket Fauteuil club.

On the Rocket League game, the Academicians were able to compete by putting themselves in a situation of handicap (an immobilized hand, blindness, attention disorders …) to discover handi-esport, accompanied by Théo JORDAN, founder of the Rebird team, the first Esport team with players with disabilities.

Paul, Academician passion esport “The disabled sports activities this afternoon allowed us to practice our passions while getting out of our comfort zone. It was very instructive!”
