Since September, an adapted basketball section has been created at the Tony Parker Adequat Academy, in partnarship with LDLC ASVEL and its social program “ASVEL Citoyen”.
Four teenagers from SESSAD Emile Zola (Specialized Education and Home Care Service) and six young adults from the La Traboule service (Experimental Support and Transition Service) started their basketball training, which is held every Wednesday.
Both services support children and adults with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). Their objectives are to develop support and supervision of sports activities adapted to their specific needs.
The Tony Parker Adequat Academy welcomes this group in its campus and allows all these people to practice basketball, all framed by professionals from both services.
This weekly hour of sport is the opportunity for them to work many objectives of their Personalized Project of Intervention:
– Develop social interactions
– Promote communication
– Develop motor skills
– Improve emotions management
– Discover a leisure activity
